Meryl Streek have announced their brand-new album, ‘Songs For The Deceased’, set for release October 25 via Venn Records.
Having played shows with the likes of Enter Shikari and Bob Vylan, the latest full-length release from the fast rising punk artist was produced by Dan Doherty (Fontaines D.C.).
Following the release of 2022 album ‘796’, the announcement is marked by emotional new track ‘Paddy’, which you can have a listen to via the video below.
The new track serving as a tribute to his uncle Paddy, ‘Songs For The Deceased’ sees Meryl Streek delivering “a collection of stories about betrayal, murder, injustice, and corruption.”
Discussing the creation of his forthcoming record, he has shared:
“The album came about in bits and pieces due to the amount of gigging. I got so carried away with playing live I forgot about the recording side of things and what matters the most to me.
“It was only when I finished recording the new album I realised I had made a record that revolved around people and events around my hometown of Dublin. Now, I admit it’s not always a pretty picture I’m painting, and it probably never will be, but these are cases that desperately need awareness.”
Meryl Streek has also announced the ‘Songs For The Deceased’ UK tour, on sale now via the artist’s site.
