Back in 2020, Iggy Pop and Tyler, the Creator did “a day’s work” on a Harmony Korine-directed Gucci ad campaign. The collaboration appears to have made a strong impression on Iggy, who has called Tyler a “genuine old-school talent.”
During a recent episode of his BBC Radio 6 show, Iggy Confidential, the punk rock legend lavished praise on the younger rapper, singer, and producer.

“I’ve always liked Tyler,” Iggy said in his signature rasp. “I did a day’s work with him once, and he would do what it takes to get attention. He’s also a genuine all-around song, dance, writer talent — a genuine old-school talent with a new-school approach.”
Next month, Tyler will show off his genuine old-school talent on a world tour in support of CHROMAKOPIA, one of the best albums of 2024. Tickets can be purchased here.
Meanwhile, Iggy is set to drop a new concert album, Live at Montreux Festival 2023, on January 24th. Pre-orders are ongoing.
