Home Is Where has returned with ‘migration patterns,’ the explosive lead single from their upcoming album Hunting Season, out May 23, 2025 via Wax Bodega.

Produced by Jack Shirley and recorded in just three days, ‘migration patterns’ introduces Hunting Season with a blaze of righteous energy. It’s a scathing meditation on the crushing weight of day-to-day life, delivered through the lens of the band’s unique blend of folk-punk, alt-country, and grotesque Americana. Lead vocalist Bea MacDonald pierces through the din with an indictment of labor and mortality: “This is about grappling with a mundane destiny. You will work until the day you die.” The track sets the tone for an album that’s both looser and more melodic than its predecessors, with the band leaning into country and Dylan-esque storytelling without softening their bite.

With Hunting Season on the horizon, ‘migration patterns’ reminds us that Home Is Where still knows how to light a fuse—and walk away smiling as it burns.
