Green Day just played their latest album ‘Saviors’ in full during an intimate show in Anaheim, California – as well as some ‘American Idiot’ deep cuts.
Nine ‘Saviors’ tracks were given their full live debut, as the pop-punk icons gear up for their forthcoming world tour in support of their latest LP.
Those lucky enough to attend the 2,200-capacity House Of Blues venue not only saw the album played out in full (although not quite in the order they appear on the record), but also saw the band play ‘She’s A Rebel’ and ‘Extraordinary Girl’ for the first time in nearly two decades.
Further ‘American Idiot’ track, ‘Give Me Novacaine’, meanwhile, was played live for the first time in six years.

For ‘The Saviors World Tour’, the band will kick things off in Europe from May 30, arriving in the UK in June for dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London and at Isle Of Wight Festival. They will be supported in the UK by Nothing But Thieves and Maid Of Ace.
They will then hit the US from July 29 in Washington DC, with support from The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas.
Billie Joe Armstrong recently pitched up in London with his and Mike Dirnt’s cover band side-project, The Coverups – a show which Rock Sound described as:
“A reminder of just how important it is to never lose the spirit of what it means to pick up some instruments with your best mates and play like your life depends on it.
“Though he will be back with Green Day in the Summer to take over Wembley Stadium, tonight, Billie Joe was playing for the 18-year-old he used to be.”
