Green Day have officially claimed their place on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, with the trio’s star unveiled during a ceremony yesterday (May 01).
With the news first shared last week, the legendary band are now proud owners of the 2,810th star placed on the Los Angeles’ landmark, located at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.
Presented during a ceremony hosted by US music personality Matt Pinfield, with famous faces including actor Ryan Reynolds, producer Rob Cavallo, and tennis star Serena Williams in attendance, thousands of fans were also there to show their support.

Giving a speech as part of the band’s induction, Matt Pinfield shared:
“What an honour it is to be here today with these three guys that I love. Love their music and love them as people… ‘Dookie’ made so many young people pick up guitars, bass, and drums, and want to sing and write songs… That is what punk rock, rock and roll music is all about. That beauty, that love, a passing on of that gift. And that’s the thing that’s so special about Green Day and why it’s such an honour to be here today.”
Green Day will return to the UK this summer when they headline Download Festival alongside Sleep Token and Korn. The event will take place at Donington Park on June 13-15.
