Once U2 plays its final show on the second of March, it is unclear as to who or what might takeover. Phish will play four nights over 4/20 weekend, but that is the only future performance scheduled as of right now.
In the meantime, U2 teased its return to the stage next week with an awesome new drone video. It flies in from the nosebleeds to get up close to the Irish rock band during their performance of ‘Atomic City.’
The Sphere continues to blow minds with its immersive, life-like visuals and the backdrop showing the Las Vegas Strip is no exception. To see it from a drone’s perspective is pretty cool.
The song title is a reference to one of Las Vegas’ many nicknames and pays homage to punk music in the past, like Blondie and Clash. U2 dropped the single on the first day of its inaugural show at the Sphere. They often play it during their encore, between ‘Elevation’ and ‘Vertigo.’
This new drone video is from one of those encore performances. You can feel the energy inside of the building as it takes you inside the world’s most viral venue.
There have been a lot of videos and images from U2’s residency at the Sphere over the past few months. The drone shot might be the coolest!
