Cruel World music festival rescheduled for Sunday

Siouxsie and Iggy Pop will perform Sunday evening at the Rose Bowl complex in Pasadena after the headliners were unable to perform at a music festival on Saturday because of severe weather.

Ticket holders with passes to Saturday’s Cruel World Festival can return Sunday to Brookside at Rose Bowl, festival organizers announced on social media. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Siouxsie will perform an extended set on Sunday in what will be her only North American concert appearance this year, organizers said.

The Cruel World Festival highlights goth rock, new wave and post-punk music. Siouxsie, whose full name is Siouxsie Sioux, performed in the British rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Saturday’s event was stopped around 9:30 p.m., when festival organizers told concertgoers to exit and head to their cars or other safe areas.

At just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, a National Weather Service statement said radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm moving through the area, with the potential for wind gusts up to 50 mph, pea-sized hail and frequent lightning.
