Cassadee Pope Shares New Single ‘People That I Love Leave’

Cassadee Pope has released emotionally-charged new track ‘People That I Love Leave’.

The GRAMMY-nominated singer and former lead vocalist of pop-punk band Hey Monday worked with a number of commendable collaborators to write the new track, including Ali Tamposi, Roman Campolo, Nick Long and Andrew Luce.

The result is a tune that expresses the fear of being loved following previous heartbreak – have a listen below via the lyric video.

Describing the new tune in greater detail, Cassadee has said:

“This song describes the difficulties of letting someone love you when you’ve been hurt in the past.

“The idea came from my current relationship and how it sometimes scares me that I have something so beautiful and loving. How I can’t help but wait for the other shoe to drop because of past traumas.”

After embarking on a solo career in 2012, Cassadee’s output has touched on pop and country, but the singer has explained that new track ‘People That I Love Leave’ signifies a return to the music she’s now intending to make, saying:

“This next project has an authenticity that I’ve never been able to tap into before now.”

“Pop and rock music is such a staple in my creativity so to fully return back to that genre feels special and like coming back home.”
