We’ve made it to New Music Friday once again, and there are some exciting new albums to stream over Valentine’s Day weekend.
Kick off your weekend of romance in the moshpit with the debut album from our February CoSigns, Winona Fighter. Or, if love is feeling too a little too soft for you, try Bartees Strange’s slasher-themed new album Horror. Meanwhile, today sees brand new releases from Chicago fuzz-rockers Horsegirl, BLACKPINK’s JISOO, and The Lumineers.
Here are seven new albums to stream today.
Bartees Strange — Horror
Three years after his excellent 2022 album Farm to Table, Bartees Strange is back with his third studio album, Horror. Taking influence from slasher, horror, and thriller flicks — as well as a general feeling of doom — the Jack Antonoff-produced Horror is another massive, conceptual step forward for Bartees Strange.

Horsegirl — Phonetics On and On
A lot has changed for Horsegirl since their excellent 2022 debut Versions of Modern Performance. Two members of the trio have moved off to New York for college, and even before that, the group toured incessantly, opening for The Breeders and Wilco and playing Coachella in the process. That growth is well-reflected on their follow-up Phonetics On and On, which was produced by indie stalwart Cate Le Bon.

JISOO — AMORTAGE
AMORTAGE marks the latest rollout in BLACKPINK’s solo era (although the girls have officially teased a 2025 tour to be announced soon). With the lead single “Earthquake,” Jisoo pushes herself into exciting territory; while the bouncy “Flower” has remained a favorite for Blinks, there’s a new type of energy surrounding the fresh mini-album.

The Lumineers — Automatic
The Lumineers are back with Automatic, their follow-up to 2022’s Brightside and their fifth studio album overall. Inspired by “the absurdities of the modern world,” the indie folk duo previewed Automatic with “Same Old Song” last month. Plus, they’re embarking on a massive 2025 tour in support of the album, with openers like St. Vincent, Young the Giant, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, and many more set to join.

Marshall Allen (of Sun Ra Arkestra) — New Dawn
A couple of fun facts about Marshall Allen: He’s a notable member of the Sun Ra Arkestra, he’s 100 years old, and his first-ever solo album, New Dawn, releases today. Despite hitting triple digits before dropping a new album under his name and his name alone, Allen doesn’t consider New Dawn to be a retrospective project, but rather the start of a new era — a new dawn, even.

Sabrina Carpenter — Short ‘n Sweet (Deluxe)
Shakespeare once said, “Though she be but little, she is fierce,” and we don’t actually have any evidence that he wasn’t talking about Sabrina Carpenter. The recent Grammy winner has rolled out the deluxe version of her acclaimed album, Short n’ Sweet, just in time for Valentine’s (or Galentine’s). Don’t miss the new version of “Please, Please, Please,” featuring the iconic Dolly Parton.
