Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott are celebrating three happy years of being together. The couple, who first met in 2019 on “Carpool Karaoke,” have commemorated their milestone with loving tributes to each other on Instagram.
A Magical Night Out to Celebrate Their Love
They both posted the same carousel of photos from their night out celebrating at the Magic Castle clubhouse in Los Angeles, California. Scott captioned his post, “Hard to believe…scratch that…Easy to believe it’s already been 3 years with this beautiful soul in my life. @zooeydeschanel you make everything better and what a fitting way to celebrate at the @magiccastlehollywood.” Deschanel’s post was captioned, “I got the best one most wonderful three years ever. And thanks magic castle for helping us celebrate last night.”
Their posts included photos of the two dressed up enjoying the night – one with Scott, 44, kissing Deschanel, 42, on the head and another with the couple posing with a magician.
The Two Met on “Carpool Karaoke” and the Rest is History
Earlier this year, the couple spoke to Bustle about how they met and their relationship. “I tell anyone who asks, ‘Oh, don’t worry. I know I’m dating up,” Scott said. The two met while appearing on “Carpool Karaoke” and they instantly knew there was something special there. “I was flirting so bad that they had to edit it down,” he said.
Shortly after filming, the “Property Brothers” star went on a trip through the Rocky Mountains where there was zero cell service. Deschanel assumed the lack of texting meant he was ghosting her. “The very first text I sent when I came out of the mountains was a video I recorded to a Canadian country song that she mentioned to me,” he explained. “She was like, ‘Oh, this guy likes me.’ And we’ve literally talked every single day since. It’s been the best three years of my life.”
The couple are currently in the process of moving into the home they’ve been renovating for the past few years together.
Co-Parenting in a Blended Family
Deschanel is mom to two children, Elsie Otter, 7, and Charlie Wolf, 5, with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik, and it appears that the blended family unit is working for everyone based on a sweet Father’s Day post the “New Girl” actress posted. “So thankful my kids have these two awesome guys in their lives: @jonathanscott and their dad @jacobpechenik.” Scott commented on the post, “One big happy family,” and Pechenik commented, “It’s my absolute greatest privilege.” Other comments included, “Co-parenting done right!!!” “I absolutely love this and that’s how blended families should be. Love always wins,” “This kind of co-parenting is really special to see. As a kid who didn’t get to have that, thank you. Those kids are super lucky to be able to witness this kind of love in a blended family,” “This is the best post I have seen today. I love that you are thinking of the children above all else.
