Yungblud has unveiled the latest taste of his forthcoming new album in the form of ‘Zombie’, a powerful, heart-wrenching-ballad.
With the first part of a double record ‘Idols’ set to arrive on June 20, it follows his return with epic, classic rock-influenced, 9 minute long ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ and an anthemic nod to British culture with ‘Lovesick Lullaby’.
On the inspiration behind ‘Zombie’, Dom has said:
“The song was written initially about my grandmother going through serious injury and trauma, leading her to become a different person to who she was before. It’s about the feeling of deterioration and ugliness; shutting out the world and the people we love out of the fear of becoming a burden or an embarrassment… We all want someone or something to comfort us no matter how we are right now or who we become in the future. But it’s f*cking scary.”

The official music video for ‘Zombie’ will arrive at 4pm BST today (May 30).
Starring Florence Pugh, the Academy Award-nominated actress portrays a healthcare worker at her emotional brink, overwhelmed by grief and exhaustion.

Speaking about the upcoming release of ‘Idols’, Yungblud has said:
“I wanted to make a project that didn’t focus on singles or anything else except feeling and world-building… A project with no limitations.”
And you can hear plenty more from Dom via Rock Sound’s new series of ‘7 of 30’ below, including why his new music is “the best thing” he’s ever made.
Having announced a world tour earlier this month, Yungblud confirmed that this summer’s Bludfest will be his only UK appearance of the year.
Taking place at Milton Keynes Bowl on June 21, other acts on the lineup include Chase Atlantic, blackbear and Denzel Curry.
