YouTube TV to Increase Monthly Price by $10

YouTube TV will once again raise its monthly subscription cost, this time by $10. The hike is set to take effect in January and will bring the price from $72.99 to $82.99.

The Alphabet-owned service sent an email to users explaining that the new price is required to “keep up with the rising cost of content and the investment we make in the quality of our service.”

“We don’t make these decisions lightly, and we realize this has an impact on our members,” the statement continued. “We are committed to bringing you features that are changing the way we watch live TV, like unlimited DVR storage and multiview, and supporting YouTube TV’s breadth of content and vast on-demand library of movies and shows.”

The last YouTube TV price hike (a 12% increase) took place in March 2023. After the service fully switches to $82.99 per month, it will be 137% more expensive than its original 2017 price of $34.99. It also brings YouTube TV up to the same price as Hulu+Live TV, which upped its cost to $82.99 in October.
