According to Yanet, “Having a balance is important,” when it comes to eating. “I have learned to eat healthy without having a diet,” she told Daily Star. “My diets are always different to not get bored, I always try to be rich in protein, some good carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables,” she added to Women’s Best.
“Being disciplined” with exercise is also how Yanet stays in shape. “If I don’t have time to go to the gym, I can exercise at home. Every day I do a physical activity, being disciplined is what will allow you to reach your objective,” she told Daily Star. “I always try to exercise in my freetime. I love going to the gym every day and also practice yoga and do boxing,” she added to Women’s Best.
Yanet maintains a strict diet during the week, however she allows herself a little wiggle room to indulge. “I can eat anything I want on weekends. I find pastries and desserts very hard to resist,” she told Daily Star. “I love Mexican and Italian food! I can never resist a delicious pizza,” she told Women’s Best.
Yanet is motivated to stay in shape, but not just to look good. “I like to maintain a healthy life and I exercise for how I feel, rather than to focus on the physical appearance. A person is worth for who he or she is and not for what they look like,” she told Daily Star.
Yanet’s “golden rule” is hydration. “Drink plenty of water,” she told Women’s Best. How much water should you try and drink every day? According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.
Another way Yanet sticks to a healthy eating plan is via meal prep. “I have plenty of meals ready to serve. All I have to do is warm them and nothing else. I always try to prepare healthy food,” she told Women’s Best. “Meal prepping simply means preparing or batch-cooking meals, snacks or ingredients ahead of time, to make healthy eating easier during your busier days,” says the Cleveland Clinic. “For one person that might mean making a week’s worth of breakfasts and lunches that they can reheat at work. For another, it might mean just chopping up some extra veggies and making a homemade salad dressing to use throughout the week.”
