xQc strikes gold with “massive” Pokemon TCG first edition haul after spending $100k

xQc spent $100k on rare Pokemon TCG first edition Fossil booster boxes, and was thrilled by the “massive” haul he found when opening one during a livestream.

xQc is no stranger to the world of the Pokemon TCG. At the end of 2024, the content creator showcased his classic collection and revealed he’s even got an original Charizard from the base set, as well as the Ancient Mew card, which was only given out to fans who attended screenings of Pokemon the Movie 2000: The Power of One.

To add to his already expensive collection, xQc admitted to his viewers during his February 25, 2025 Kick stream that he had spent $100,000 on Pokemon booster packs.

Given the high price tag, it’s no surprise that these boosters are more exclusive in their own right, including three unopened first-edition Pokemon boxes and a Fossil booster set.

While the game aims to collect em’all, some Pokemon cards are more valuable than others, particularly any original designs or packs. Released in 1999, the first edition of Fossil cards are some of the rarest finds worldwide and was the third expansion set created for Pokemon TCG.

Despite being hard to find, xQc announced he had purchased three packs for the first edition Fossil set, one of which he quickly showcased during his livestream.

“Here’s one of them for you. First edition, pristine condition PSA 10 possible box.”

To further explain the rarity of this collection, xQc claimed that viewers “might never see a broadcast of anybody opening these ever again.”

Promising his fans that he’s not “bragging” or “flexing” about having the product, he doubled down and added, “There are not a lot of these left on Earth, so seeing one opened live is kind of crazy.”

After briefly discussing the Fossil collection, it was time for xQc to tear the packs open and see what Pokemon were hiding inside. While there were not Charizard’s or other highly sought-after cards, xQc did amass a collection of different birds, which he noted as a “massive” haul.

Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Aerodactyl, Lapras, Gengar and a Gengar holo were all pulled from the pack.

When opening up the other boxes, xQc really struck gold, his girlfriend pulling a $5,000 1st Edition Blaine’s Charizard, Snorlax holo and more.

While pleased with his findings, xQc voiced his disappointment at not pulling a Dragonite and said he would have “loved” to see the dragon appear in the pack.
