xQc reveals why extreme panic attacks keep him from traveling to IRL events

xQc opened up about the extreme anxiety he has while flying on planes in a conversation with DJ Akademiks, saying it’s put a major damper on his IRL streams abroad.

In March 2025, streaming star Felix ‘xQc‘ Lengyel participated in the annual Sidemen Charity Football Match, which was held in London for a live audience of over 90,000 fans — but it wasn’t easy for him to travel across the pond.

In fact, Lengyel admitted that he suffers from crippling anxiety around flying on planes, as revealed in an April 2 live stream with prominent podcast host DJ Akademiks.

At first, xQc said that he’s been trying to stream in Japan for a number of years — but after Akademiks admitted that he’d be too anxious to be on a plane that long, Lengyel said that he, too, can barely handle flying on a plane.

xQc says flying overseas triggers panic attacks & hospital fears

“My plane anxiety is so bad. I wake up with panic attacks like four or five times,” he began. “I spark up from a little sleep and into full panic, where I have the thought that I want to jump through a window.

“Literally. I feel like I’m gonna f**king die, like four or five times per flight. And I still do it.

“…it makes you want to call the lady and say, ‘Yo, can we land and go to the hospital?’ Whenever I fly, I hate flying overseas because I keep thinking, ‘If something happens, we can’t just land right there and go to the hospital.’”

While the longest flight xQc has been on was a nine-hour trip from North America to London, he says he’d be willing to brave the 16-hour flight to Japan for a future IRL stream by spending a whopping $15K on first-class seats for a private, enclosed cubicle.

Lengyel and Akademiks are far from the only influencers who suffer from flight anxiety, also known as aerophobia. 100 Thieves owner Matthew ‘Nadeshot‘ Haag also has a fear of flying, as does prominent YouTuber MoistCritikal, who called the idea of being on a plane “terrifying.”
