Prominent streamer xQc had a pessimistic opinion of Dr Disrespect’s reaction to Twitch’s latest ban changes, saying the Doc must be “trolling” with his demands to get unbanned.
On February 20, 2025, Twitch outlined several big changes to the way it handles bans, suggesting that permanently suspended accounts could have the chance to get reinstated.
More specifically, Twitch said that banned streamers can “submit an appeal, or request reinstatement of your account if you’ve been indefinitely suspended for longer than 6 months.”
In response, Dr Disrespect broke character and used his official Guy Beahm X account to demand that he get unbanned, calling the platform “pathetic.”
“Twitch should’ve never allowed a low level employee to override the entire ban system, which had already determined we didn’t do anything wrong, because of biased opinions of the Doc character,” he wrote.
“…Although things have been ‘settled,’ Twitch should do the right thing and correct their mistake of permanently banning the Doc by reinstating the channel.”
xQc says Dr Disrespect must be “trolling” with Twitch unban demand
Doc’s opinion on Twitch’s big ban changes quickly went viral, catching the attention of another top broadcaster, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel — who didn’t hold a very enthusiastic view of Dr Disrespect’s demands from the platform.
“He’s just trolling. There’s no way he actually believes that,” Lengyel said after reading the tweet during a broadcast.
“Chat, can I be honest with you? It seems like a lot of people have been doing that recently. Maybe it’s a tale as old as time and I’m just unaware, but it seems like a lot of people do that, where something bad happens… It looks really f**king bad, and it is bad.
“And then legally, it ends up being one way, and they’re like, ‘Guys, it’s always been that way.’ There’s enough wrongdoing that people saw that it’s not like the legal ending matters.”
Essentially, xQc feels that Dr Disrespect is attempting to throw the reason for his infamous Twitch ban into a different light after the lawsuit between himself and Twitch was settled, using the case as a reference point.
While the Doc was permanently banned from Twitch in 2020, the reason for the suspension wasn’t brought to light until 2024, when former Twitch employees claimed that the streamer had used the site’s Whispers feature to send inappropriate messages to an underage viewer.
While Doc initially admitted to these accusations in a now-deleted tweet, he’s since gone on to accuse Twitch of orchestrating the ban against him and harboring a grudge… an argument he continues to maintain to this day.
