Dolly Parton isn’t ruling out a potential stop by Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour.
“You never know ― anything is possible! Because she really is doing great with that [tour],” Parton said during an interview with HuffPost on Wednesday about her new line of frozen foods.
Parton added that she “loved” Beyoncé’s country album and explained why she found the singer’s rendition of “Jolene” ― Parton’s classic country song from 1973 ― so “amusing.”
“I was very honored that she wanted to do her version of ‘Jolene,’” the Grammy winner said. “That’s all a great compliment to me, when somebody wants to do my songs in any version.”
“I was very amused by her take on that, and I got a big kick out of that,” she said of Beyoncé’s new lyrics in her twist on the ballad. “She’s not gonna sit back and say, ‘Oh please don’t take my man.’ She’s gonna kick some ass!”
While Parton was willing to open up about “Jolene,” there’s one song the “9 to 5” singer still can’t talk about ― a secret song, buried in a vault in Dollywood.
The song, which is buried in a time capsule at Parton’s Dollywood DreamMore resort, won’t be released until 2045.
“It’s not supposed to be open ’til I’ll be 100, and which, that’s the day after tomorrow,” Parton joked.
“So I’m not supposed to say what it is, and who knows, I may be there to sing it,” the singer shared, though she said there’s no chance “they’ll let me dig it up” right now.
“I’ve wanted to say to them a time or two, ‘That song was so good! Can I just put another song in there? Can I dig that one up? Put something else?’” she said. “I thought, ‘No, that’s just a deal we made, and we’ll see.’”

“Some of you will be around!” Parton said of the future release of the song, which she said “had a lot of meaning” to her.
“I thought very long and hard about what it should be saying, at that time,” she said. “So if there’s a way of playing it with the web music, and everything changes now, then I guess you’ll hear it then. If it’s disintegrated or something, then I guess you’ll know that I meant well.”
