Fans will have to wait another year to see Wicked: Part 2, but we thankfully have some photos to share from the set if you’re looking for an early tease.
Back when the movie was filming in 2023, photographers were able to capture some moments of Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey on set. We now know which of those moments were from the second part, though we already had an idea they would be.
One set of photos, taken on April 30, 2023 at Hankley Common (a nature preserve in England), show Cynthia, her stunt double, and other crew members filming a flying scene on the Yellow Brick Road.

As we saw in Part 1, the Wizard enlists Elphaba and Glinda’s help in choosing the color of the brick road and tells them his plan of creating a road in Oz that will lead directly to him. It looks like Elphaba may try to disrupt the construction of the road, which would be new content add to the story.
PHOTO SET 2: We also have photos of Ariana and Jonathan filming the “Thank Goodness” scene that opens Act Two of the Broadway musical. The scene was filmed in early May 2003 in Buckinghamshire, England.
