Why Was Bobbi Althoff Booted From Drake’s Party By Security?

The podcaster seemingly was at the receiving end of the famous rapper’s wrath when she was removed from an after-party his team hosted.

Althoff and Drake had fans speculating about a possible beef last August when their viral interview was suddenly erased from the internet.

Althoff seemed to believe all was well with her and the “God’s Plan” rapper when she showed up at his SXSW after-party on Monday night.

The drama went down at Mayfair nightclub in Austin, Texas, at the after-party event following the South by Southwest premiere of the new docuseries “Magic City: An American Fantasy.” Drake’s DreamCrew Entertainment co-produced the project.

Although the rapper wasn’t around in person for the celebration, his team wasn’t pleased when Althoff allegedly showed up uninvited. The internet personality was also in Austin for the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards at SXSW. An insider who witnessed the drama told Daily Mail:

“I have no idea how she got in because she was not invited by organizers or hosts of the event. If you look up the past history between her and Drake, it’s easy to see why she wasn’t invited – and why she was removed as soon as possible.”

Although Althoff was booted from the party, the event wasn’t short of stars, including Carmelo Anthony, T.I., 2 Chainz, Jermaine Dupri as well as Matt James and Tyler Cameron of the “Bachelors” franchise.

“Magic City: An American Fantasy,” a three-part docu-series featuring Drake, tells the story behind the famed Atlanta spot and its decades-long influence on hip-hop. Producer Cole Brown told Radar Online about the project:

“We wanted to walk a fine line with nudity, in particular. At the same time, we didn’t want it to be salacious, gratuitous. We wanted to use it in such a way that you’re getting an image of what this place is.”

For the after-party, Drake and his team created an exact replica of the famed Magic City in Austin.

Althoff rose to become an internet sensation when she interviewed the Canadian rapper on the July 20 episode of her “Really Good Podcast.” The interview instantly became viral thanks to the awkward exchange between Drake and the 26-year-old.

However, just weeks after receiving all that attention, Drake and Althoff’s interview vanished into thin air, with all traces of it cleaned from the internet. It was cleared from her  TikTok, Instagram, and podcast site, to the utmost surprise of fans.

Many wondered why a video that had millions of views and likes was scrubbed without an explanation. It also didn’t help that fans soon noticed Drake and Althoff no longer followed each other on social media.

It is not clear what went wrong between the former pals. However, fans traced the start of the supposed feud to when Althoff uploaded a video on Instagram and TikTok of her not enjoying herself at one of Drake’s shows.

“Really in my element here @ this guys concert,” she captioned the now-deleted clip, which prompted fans to believe she was responsible for the end of the friendship. One follower shared, “She really fumbled Drake’’ friendship. He invited her to his concert and then she posts this?? Acting bored and uncomfortable at his concert. That’s why he unfollowed you. It is disrespectful.”

Following Althoff’s scandal with Drake, her personal life took a hit when her husband, Cory Althoff, filed to end their three-year marriage. He sought to have joint custody of their two daughters.

The podcaster released a statement on social media to confirm the devastating news of their divorce.  “As most of you have heard, Cory and I have filed for divorce. As sad as I am right now, I am so thankful for the time I got to be his wife,” she wrote.

It continued, “Our girls are so lucky to have him as a father & I am so lucky to be able to co-parent with such an incredible father and person. hile our relationship did not work out as husband and wife, we will always be friends, and I will always love him.”

About three weeks after the filing, Althoff and Cory reached a settlement in their divorce. Both parties agreed to the termination of the court’s ability to award spousal support. The ex-couple, who share two daughters, Luca, 3, and Isla, 1, also agreed to joint custody.

Many suggested that Cory’s listed date of separation in the filing — July 4 — coincided strongly with when she interviewed the “One Dance” artist.

Although some internet users suggested Althoff cheated with Drake, an insider claimed infidelity had nothing to do with Cory’s reason for divorcing. It seemed her fast rise to fame may have had something, or everything, to do with the couple parting ways.
