Besides the everyday essentials, it’s not exactly a secret that Dollar Tree can be an excellent resource for getting a great deal on beauty products. Savvy customers know how to scan the shelves for the best deals, often returning with dupes that cost significantly less than their identical name-brand counterparts. But shoppers have also been chatting about the “pink bags” at Dollar Tree, which you’ll probably want to keep an eye out for at your local store.
In a recent video, TikTok user Marissa (@MarissaintheMidwest) runs viewers through the purchases she made at her local Dollar Tree. She explains that she picked up some of the store’s “pink bag” specials, which in this case includes several types of nail polish.
“They typically just have name-brand products in there,” she says. “And we love seeing name-brand at Dollar Tree!”
Unlike other beauty finds, this haul is made up almost entirely of one particular well-known brand. “All of today’s pink bag finds were Sally Hansen with one brand I’ve never heard of before,” the TikToker reveals.
Marissa then rounds up what she purchased, gushing about her finds. “Look at this blue [nail polish]. Look how pretty [it is]: Stunning!” she says. “These go for a minimum of $5 to $6 each. And what did we pay? $1.25 for that!”
She also showcases a top coat from the brand’s Pride collection that adds “glitter [and] sparkle” to your look. But a few others also stand out, including a Peeps Pink Bunny shade from the brand’s Peeps collection, two others from its Insta-Dri line, and a Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Sugar with a “glittery-esque whatever to it.”
But it wasn’t just Sally Hansen items that made their way into her shopping basket. Marissa explained that another unknown brand stood out to her.
“This is the brand Mineral Fusion—never seen her, never heard of it—but the packaging is adorable. And look at it: My true favorite color, green!” She then chuckles at the product’s punny name: Olive You.
In a follow-up video responding to comments, Marissa says that the pink bag special might not be available everywhere.
“I don’t know if it’s every Dollar Tree, but I’ve seen it at quite a few around me,” she explains. “Simply, it’s that there’s a name-brand product hiding in the pink bag. Now, is it their mission to make it like a treasure hunt? No, but that’s how I interpret it, and I treat it like a treasure hunt every time.”
And it’s not just traditional nail polishes and second coats: In a later video, Marissa shows off other finds on the shelf, including a two-in-one gel option and some items from the Maybelline Fast Gel line. But no matter what your tastes may be, she still recommends seeking out this bargain buy.
“If we’ve learned anything on today’s episode of ‘What Did Marissa Get at Dollar Tree,’ do not skip on any packaging that may look a little suspicious, [because] usually there’s a little goodie inside,” she says.
