Why Prince William And Harry Reconciling ‘May Never Happen’

Princes William and Prince Harry recently came within touching distance of each other when they attended the funeral service of their late uncle, Lord Fellowes.

However, the warring brothers were seemingly unperturbed by the other’s presence as they didn’t talk to each other.

Royal expert Michael Cole has now weighed in on the chances of a much talked about reunion between them, noting that Prince Harry was “going to be greatly disappointed” if he had hopes that his sudden dash from L.A. would make him gain Prince William’s good grace.

According to the Daily Mail, the former BBC royal correspondent reflected on William and Harry’s recent snub of each other at Fellowes’ funeral service, saying that a “reconciliation may never happen” as the Prince of Wales is most “likely” hurt by his younger brother’s “betrayals and snipes.”

Cole, who didn’t attend the service himself, reflected on what locals shared about how there was “no reunion” between the feuding siblings, who have reportedly not spoken to each other in over two years.

He also noted that William and Harry “sat apart” and “did not look at each other,” acknowledging how eyewitnesses described the “atmosphere” around them as being fairly “frosty.”

“If Prince Harry imagined that this secret dash and sudden appearance might start to thaw the ice cap that has frozen between them, he was going to be greatly disappointed,” Cole told the news outlet. “Prince William did not look at him, let alone acknowledge his presence.”

The royal expert pondered the interaction between the future king and the Duke of Sussex, lamenting that their talks “were not just minimal, they were invisible.”

“This was not a happy meeting of two brothers who, as boys, could not have been closer,” he told the Daily Mail. “This was no reunion. They sat apart and did not look at each other. On a sunny day, the atmosphere around the two brothers was frosty, said one mourner.”

Cole added, “As things are at present, reconciliation may never happen, such is the hurt Prince William feels at his brother’s betrayals and snipes in interviews, a television series, and his ghost-written book ‘Spare,’ the biggest-selling ‘autobiography’ ever published.”

Harry strained relationships with William and the royal family when he made several allegations in his memoir, including that William labeled Meghan “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive” and even accused the Prince of Wales of pushing him into a dog bowl.

Locals in Snettisham, Norfolk, shared that the once-inseparable brothers attended the service for Lord Fellowes, which was held at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham on Wednesday. However, they sat apart at the back of the auditorium and didn’t speak to each other.

The same report was maintained by Reverend Dan Tansey, the Vicar of the church, who told the Daily Mail that William and Harry walked “a few people apart” as they left the event and couldn’t recall them talking to each other at a reception afterward.

Reverend Tansey shared that “a lot of family members and friends” spoke to William and Harry, and he admitted that “it was quite a surprise” for him that they could both make it to the service.

Replying to whether or not the warring brothers sat together, he said, “I don’t know because I was in the vestry.”

“When I came out to start the service, they had arrived, but I didn’t even know they were there until after the service when I was meeting people on the way out,” Reverend Tansey said. “They came out and shook my hand, and said hello. I couldn’t see where they were sat in the church.”

According to Reverend Tansey, although the brothers didn’t seem to interact with each other, their attendance at the funeral was a “pleasant” surprise as the princes spoke with other family members.

“I was just greeting one person at a time as they came out. [William and Harry] came out a few people apart,” he said, adding that “it was a surprise but a really pleasant one that they had both come, but maybe less shocking that William was there.”

“On the way out, they both said thank you for the service and I thanked them for coming. At the reception afterward, there was a very relaxed and cordial atmosphere,” Reverend Tansey noted. “I don’t recollect them speaking to each other but there were a lot of family members and friends speaking to them.”

“It would have meant a lot to Lord Fellowes to have them both at the service. He loved them both very much,” he added.

An insider told OK! that the father-of-two hopes his family will sheathe their swords and become open to peace talks, especially as his 40th birthday anniversary draws closer.

“With Harry’s birthday fast approaching, he has been speaking about maybe reaching out to Kate because it’s on milestones like this when he really misses her,” the insider claimed. “She helped plan his 30th birthday and he feels bad that she won’t be involved and would love to catch up with her and see how everything is.”

“But he knows that will never happen because Kate would never go behind William’s back, and she will stay loyal to the royals,” the source continued. “It would be a complete shock if they had peace talks but Harry still feels they all need each other.”
