She is not afraid to display her dangerous curves in iWant’s newest series “Beach Bros,” because Chie Filomeno feels she can be an inspiration to petite girls when it comes to showing off their to-die-for figures.
“Gusto ko kasi ako rin ‘yung epitome ng mga petite girls na hindi comfortable sa body nila kasi petite sila. Sinasabihan sila na, ‘ang payat-payat mo, kumain ka nga.’ We eat. We eat a lot,” Filomeno said when asked where she is getting her confidence in displaying her body in two-piece bikinis, during the face-to-face press conference for the said series, last July 10.
(I want to be the epitome of petite girls who are not comfortable with their body because they are petite. They were told, “you’re so thin, you must eat.”…)
“It’s a matter of what you feed your mind also and your body. I watch what I eat. Balance lang (Just have balance) and confidence,” she added.
But Filomeno revealed that there was actually a time when she lacked confidence.
“‘Yung confidence, hindi overnight ‘yan. Hinanap ko ‘yung confidence na matagal nawala. Nahanap ko naman,” she explained. (The confidence, it did not come overnight. I looked for that confidence which was missing for so long. I was able to finally see it.)
As a lead star in “Beach Bros,” Fiomeno considers her inclusion in the series a “milestone.”
“Not only in my career pero sa life ko, ‘yung mga natututunan ko, sa mga project also, sa mga nabibigay sa akin,” she said. (Not only in my career but also in my life, things that I have learned, also in my projects, those that were given to me.)
When asked what separates girls from women, she said, “I think ‘yung difference nila siguro ay how they handle stuff, ‘yung mindset also. ‘Yung outlook mo sa buhay and experience also. Hindi din siya sa age, eh. Hindi mo din talaga (masasabi). Maybe I’m twenty five, but I’m still a girl, ‘yung mindset ko.”
(I think the difference maybe is how they handle stuff, the mindset also. Your outlook in life and your experience also. It’s not in the age. You really cannot tell. Maybe I am twenty five but I am still a girl, that is my mindset.)
In the series, Filomeno plays Nicole, an alluring and mysterious woman who will help the boys navigate their teenage crises.
Starring Kyle Echarri, Angelica Lao, Kira Balinger, Brent Manalo, Raven Rigor, Sean Tristan and Lance Carr, the series streams for free this July 16. JB
