THE View host Whoopie Goldberg has announced major career news away from the talk show.
This new career move comes after fans have asked for the host to be fired from the show.
Whoopi, 68, is set to release a brand new memoir this year.
Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me will be released on May 7, 2024.
The Blackstone Publishing book will chronicle Whoopi’s life, career, and family, in her own words, although it is only semi-autobiographical.
“This book is dedicated to my mother and my brother and our time together as a small, funny little unit. It’s dedicated to anyone who’s found themselves on a scary path not of their choosing or dealing with loss,” The View host told People in an exclusive statement.

“This book is dedicated to everyone who is just trying to figure out the small stuff as well as the stuff where you have to be more than you thought you could be and it’s dedicated to love.”
Whoopi grew up in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.
She will tell stories of her mother, Emma Harris, who died in 2010, and her older brother, Clyde K. Johnson, who died in 2015.
“The book will serve as a way for the author to preserve the memories of her loved ones on the page,” People said.

WHOOPI’S BOOKS
This is not the first book Whoopi has written.
In 2022, she published Two Old Broads: Stuff You Need to Know That You Didn’t Know You Needed to Know with Dr. M.E. Hecht.
If Someone Says “You Complete Me,” RUN!: Whoopi’s Big Book of Relationships was released in 2015.
Her third book, Is It Just Me?: Or Is It Nuts out There?, came out in 2011.
She is also the author of the children series, The Sugar Plum Ballerinas.
WARPED VIEW
In 2022, fans were calling for Whoopi to be removed from The View for going wild on live TV.
She experienced a series of blunders and foul language that made fans get serious about her being fired.
“Someone needs to start pushing back on Whoopi. I have a feeling someone will not let her interject one day which will cause Whoopi to go full-on nuts honestly. She has gotten exponentially worse this season so I hope next time contract negotiations are up it’s time to go, or work less days,” a fan wrote on Reddit.
“… I have no idea what ABC thinks is happening here. They take several women, with no real credibility and let them mouth off day after day and they’re surprised that one day someone says something stupid?” another wrote.
Whoopi also made insensitive comments about the Jewish community later that year that had fans petitioning to get her off the show.
The comments got her suspended for two weeks.
