THE Apprentice has made a triumphant return to TV, for the hotly-anticipated season 18.
However, for one of the candidates, their time on the show is already over after Lord Alan Sugar delivered those famous words, “you’re fired!”
Who left The Apprentice last night?
The Apprentice season 18 kicked off in style last night (February 1, 2024), with a brand new batch of candidates all hoping to secure that £250K investment from Lord Alan Sugar.
The opening episode started off with the contestants heading to the breathtaking Scottish Highlands.
Under the watchful eye of Lord Sugar’s aides – Karren Brady and Tim Campbell – the teams were tasked with hosting a corporate away day.
However, back in the boardroom and for one candidate it was already the end of the road.
As Lord Sugar took the teams to task on the challenge, he honed in on one in particular – Oliver Medforth.
The Yorkshire sales executive got the boot after failing to put himself forward as a team leader, and encountering some difficulties making a brownie.
Addressing him, Lord Sugar said: “Ollie, it’s funny that you’re amongst eight colleagues and quite a few of them didn’t know what you did, and so I say no smoke without fire…..It’s a tough one, Ollie I’m sorry to say mate you’re fired.”
In the taxi ride on the way home Oliver reflected on being fired, and said: ““A little bit disappointed to go out first, it’s been a fantastic experience on this process, and I wish each and every candidate the best of luck.”
