Ella, 25, is Doug‘ second child with he ex-wife Kerstin.
While her step-mother has been leading with President Joe Biden at the White House, Ella‘s become something of a celebrity over the years. She’s even made her Met Gala debut, attending the biggest night in fashion back in 2021.
Here’s what you should know about her:
Ella is a fashion designer, model and artist, who showcases some of her innovative “knit paintings” on her Instagram.
She is a graduate of The New School’s Parsons School of Design and is represented by IMG Models Worldwide. As a model, she’s walked the runway at fashion shows and continues to be a creative force.
Ella and Kamala have a strong bond.
In fact, Kamala‘s youngest step-child is ready and willing to come to her aid, too. In a recently resurfaced interview from 2021, Republican vice president candidate JD Vance referred to the politician as a “childless cat lady.”
Kerstin issued a statement to NBC News, saying that Kamala “has been a co-parent” and that she was “loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present.”
Ella shared her mom’s quote on her Instagram story, writing, “How can you be ‘childless’ when you have cutie pies like Cole and I,” adding, “I love my three parents.”
More recently, Ella went viral at the DNC for her fervent support of her dad as he gave a speech. In a photo, seen below, she could be seen holding up a sign with her dad’s name on it and cheering him on.
