Kaitlyn Dever is an American actress and singer born on December 21, 1996, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Kaitlyn began her acting career in the 2009 film An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong.
However, it wasn’t until 2011 that Kaitlyn landed her breakout role as Loretta McCready in the TV series, Justified.
The Arizona actress made appearances on other hit shows including Dopesick, Modern Family, Private Practice, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

In addition to being an actress, Kaitlyn is in a musical duo called Beulahbelle with her sister, Mady Dever.

Who does she play in The Last of Us?
On January 9, 2024, HBO revealed that Kaitlyn Dever will join the cast of The Last of Us as Abby Anderson.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, her character description is: “Abby is a skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks vengeance for those she loved.”
When The Last of Us began casting for season 1, Kaitlyn auditioned for the role of Ellie but the role ultimately went to Bella Ramsey as they were looking for someone who was younger.
However, the showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have been intentional about who they’ve cast on their show and believe Kaitlyn will make a good Abby.
In a joint statement, the two said: “Our casting process for season two has been identical to season one: we look for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters in the source material.
“Nothing matters more than talent, and we’re thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella, and the rest of our family.”

As of 2024, the Booksmart actress isn’t romantically linked to anyone.
In 2020, rumors circulated that she was romantically involved with Stanger Things actor Finn Wolfhard but the rumors never progressed.
In 2014, Kaitlyn was linked to Ansel Elgort but the two never confirmed a relationship.
The pair met while working on the movie Men, Women, & Children where they were cast as love interests.
