Who is Jason Isbell’s estranged wife, Amanda Shires?
Amanda Shires was born in 1982 in Lubbock, Texas.
The 42-year-old singer-songwriter and fiddle player has been a member of the country music supergroup, The Highwomen, since 2019.
She has also been part of the alternative country and indie rock band, Thrift Store Cowboys, since 1999.
Amanda has released multiple solo albums, her first being Being Brave in 2005 and her latest being Take It Like a Man in 2022.

When did Jason and Amanda announce their divorce?
On February 8, 2024, People reported that Jason Isbell, 45, filed for divorce from Amanda on December 15, 2023, citing irreconcilable differences, according to documents obtained by the outlet.
The documents list the pair’s date of separation as December 3.
As the publication notes, their marital struggles were shown in the 2023 documentary, Running With Our Eyes Closed, “which featured an emotional scene in which Shires read an email she’d sent Isbell about the possibility of marriage counseling.”
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a quasi-famous person like Jason or me, everybody’s relationships are the same; there’s up and downs and there’s good and bad and you just try to deal with it,” Amanda told People in 2022.

The former couple wed in February 2013 and became “a musical force together,” with Amanda playing fiddle and singing backup for Jason’s band, the 400 Unit, and Jason playing guitar for The Highwomen.
