The couple announced their engagement in December 2023 after one year of dating.

Jordan Lutes, also known as Jutes, is a Canadian singer-songwriter.
He is best known for tracks like Backseat (Kiss Me), When You’re Around, and Overrated.
He used to be under Capitol Records, but he has since gone independent.
“You hear about labels shelving people or holding them without pushing them so often, and I can’t say how grateful I am that isn’t me,” he shared in an interview with Nuance Magazine.
“I had been wishing I could be indie again for a while just because I love being totally in charge of my own career, so it worked out quite nicely.”
Lutes also told the outlet that his passion lies in songwriting, calling it therapeutic.
“I really live to write songs,” he shared. “It’s how I first started being honest about my emotions and mental health, so my connection to it is very deep-rooted.”
How did Demi Lovato and Jordan Lutes meet?
Demi Lovato and Jordan Lutes first crossed paths in January 2022, when they collaborated on a couple of tracks for Lovato’s eighth album, HOLY FVCK.
Lutes co-wrote several songs, including Substance, City of Angels, and Happy Ending.
In an Instagram post, Lutes shared that Substance was “one of my fav songs I’ve ever worked on.”
He wrote: “When I got asked to pull up and write for this session I remember thinking wtf am I supposed to do in a Demi Lovato session? Only to show up and realize she was making one of the hardest rock projects I’ve ever heard. Obviously a crazy milestone for me but beyond that I feel so blessed to be a part of something I’m such a big fan of.”
It’s not clear when exactly they first started dating, but the pair went public with their relationship in August 2022.
A source told People at the time that the two shared a lot of interests, but what connected them was their experiences working toward sobriety.
“They joke, laugh, talk about their mutual personal problems, and what they overcame as young people in the music business,” the source dished.
“He is in awe of her talent and very supportive.”

Speaking with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Lovato shared that they became good friends first before they became an item.
“We became friends first. We were friends for several months and then we decided to start dating and well, after we told each other how we felt,” she said.
“Yeah, I’m super happy, and he’s my best friend.”

Demi Lovato and Jordan Lutes have yet to reveal when they’ll get hitched.
According to People, the couple’s proposal was “personal and intimate,” with Lutes going down on one knee with a diamond ring created by New York City-based brand Material Good.
They reportedly celebrated their engagement with their friends and family at Craig’s in Los Angeles.
