American Idol‘s Top 26 performed this week at the Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii and one contestant appeared as a surprise to viewers at home.
All but one of the Top 26 contestants were revealed during last week’s episodes and we thought the judges were just saving the final contestant for a special moment.
It turns out, one contestant dropped out and then fan fave Paige Anne became a replacement.
The contestant who dropped out must have made his decision before the season started airing because his audition never aired on the show, clearly meaning the producers had time to edit him out. So, who was this mystery contestant? He actually has a very famous father!

Beckett is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter who is the son of Golden Globe-nominated actor Malcolm McDowell, who is best known for his work in A Clockwork Orange and Halloween.
Beckett is the brother-in-law of actress Lily Collins, who is married to his half-brother Charlie McDowell.
