Elvis never met his grandchildren. He did not live long enough to see his little girl grow up. Even four decades after his death, Elvis Presley is the king of rock and roll. He lived only 42 years and has now been gone longer than he was alive. From when he was born on January 8, 1935, until his death on August 16, 1977, he was a star. Many people are unaware that Elvis is a twin, but his older brother was stillborn before Elvis was born. He found his love of music through his closeness with his mother and their dedication to the church, which would change his life forever. He is one of the most famous musicians and actors of all time, and he has a legacy via the birth of his only child. He and his only wife, Priscilla Presley, welcomed their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, on February 1, 1968. Through his daughter, his legacy lives on in her own four children. Who are Elvis Presley’s grandchildren?
Riley Keough 1989
The first and most well-known of Elvis Presley’s grandchildren is Riley Keough. Born on May 29, 1989, in Santa Monica, she followed in the footsteps of her maternal grandparents by becoming an actress. Her father is Lisa Marie Presley’s first husband, Danny Keough. Surprisingly, she did not spend much time with her mother as a child. She spent most of her life living in Hawaii with her dad, but she did visit her mother in California as well as Tennessee. By the time she was a teenager, she was already modeling and paving the way for her own future in entertainment.
Though she began her career in 2010 with a film role in The Runaways, her role as Daisy Jones in the upcoming project Daisy Jones and the Six has everyone talking about Elvis’ granddaughter. You see, Daisy Jones and the Six is a successful book by Taylor Jenkins Reid that Amazon Prime Video is turning into a miniseries. The book is a raging success with fans all over the world, and this is the role that will put Riley Keough on the map. She married Ben Smith-Petersen in 2015, and the couple has no children.
Benjamin Storm Keough 1992
Benjamin Storm Keough was born on October 21, 1992. He died by suicide at 27 on July 12, 2020. His story is sad, and it stems from his uncanny resemblance to his late grandfather. He was the second child born to his mother and father. His only full sister is Riley Keough. While Riley spent most of her childhood with their father, Benjamin spent his with their mother. He went through a difficult time in his life due to the instability at home. His mother left his father to marry Michael Jackson, the king of pop and the man being accused of child molestation. His mother ended that marriage to marry actor Nicolas Cage, and three months later divorced him. Stability would not come back into his life until his mother married her fourth husband and went on to have her fraternal twins.
Life was a bit easier for him then, and he and his mother remained close. He chose to do what he loved and expected of him, and he was offered a contract to become a hit musical. The world was thrilled that one of Elvis Presley’s grandchildren followed in his musical footsteps. Sadly, none of his music was released. Instead, Benjamin sunk into a deep depression. The constant photos, attention, and double-takes by everyone who recognized him as his grandfather at first glance were too much. His mother’s financial issues, his upbringing in the Church of Scientology, and his addiction and time in rehab were too much for him. His depression worsened, and Elvis’ grandson shot himself in the mouth while at a party for his girlfriend and brother-in-law. His family will never be the same.
Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood 2008
The youngest of Elvis Presley’s grandchildren take after their grandfather, too. They are twins. The girls are fraternal, born on October 7, 2008. The girls are not yet 14 as of August 2022, but their mother does share their photos and stories about them on a regular basis via her Instagram page. They are beautiful girls, though the family keeps their lives as private as possible because they are minor children. They look a lot like their mother and their older sister. Lisa Marie often notices how much her children look like her own father and also sees bits and pieces of her father in her kids.
The Presley family has led a tragic life. Elvis died at the age of 42 from heart failure thought to have been caused by many years of drug abuse. Lisa Marie lost her father at a young age, her fortune was stolen from her by someone she trusted, and she’s been through four failed marriages and the suicide of her own son. This is a family that has been through it, and it seems unfair to put so much pain into the hearts of one family. We can only hope that the remainder of Elvis Presley’s grandchildren continues to bring their mother happiness and peace and that they continue to live bright, happy, successful lives.
