The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that fans are still wondering where Ian Ward (Ray Wise) is now, so Ray Wise spilled on his character’s ambulance exit mystery in a new SOD interview.
Y&R left viewers hanging since Wise’s last appearance involving Ian gasping and opening his eyes during that final ambulance ride.
The shocker confirmed Ian isn’t deceased after all, so the door has been left open for his eventual return.
That’s something Wise is thrilled about since he’d love the chance to bring Ian back for more drama.
In fact, Wise was disappointed to see his latest Y&R stint come to an end since he was enjoying it so much.
However, Wise also knew that after that dramatic climax with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and the rest of the Newman clan, Ian couldn’t stick around.
Now it’s just a matter of figuring out what really happened to Ian – and even Ray Wise himself isn’t so sure!
“And I don’t know where I went — if I went back to jail, or if I went into the hospital, in the ICU, or if I escaped the ambulance somehow, if I pulled a Hannibal Lecter kind of a thing and disappeared into the woods only to surface a year or two later with a beard and long hair,” Wise said.
Since the Newmans still haven’t received any updates on Ian cheating his own demise, perhaps he was able to keep his survival under wraps and make a getaway.
Regardless, there are certainly plenty of stories left to tell with Ian, so Wise is hoping he gets a call to return down the road.
Wise is also hopeful that his talented scene partner, Colleen Zenk, might reprise the role of Jordan as well.
“And I even hope that Jordan isn’t dead, either! I hope that she could come back, too,” Wise insisted.
Stranger things have happened on soaps, so maybe it could eventually be revealed that Jordan also survived and is now off canvas with Ian somewhere.
Jordan and Ian could already be plotting another round of revenge – though they’d have to wait for the perfect time to strike.
Whatever the case, The Young and the Restless spoilers say more villainous revelations are still to come, so we’ll pass along predictions on Ian and any wild news ahead.
