A now-deleted video that seemingly depicts two individuals inside of an Eastman Credit Union having intimate relations brought national attention to a small Tennessee town.
On Saturday, Johnson City resident Emily Hite (@hite.emily) posted a video providing some context to the incident. The video has garnered over 596,700 views as of Monday.
The since-deleted video, posted by a now-banned account, depicted two unverified individuals engaging in what many online are speculating to be intercourse behind a frosted glass window.
“There could be a way to potentially get your loans approved [that] most of us are not willing to go there but some… some will,” Hite joked in her highly viewed video.
A Town In Shock
The viral video has sparked controversy, with many saying it should never have been posted online in the first place. “Listen, I’m hesitant about even talking about this because on one hand I’m like people deserve their privacy,” said Hite.
“But on the other hand, if you’re willing to get frisky inside the bank behind a frosted glass window… Do you care much about your privacy? I’m leaning towards no.”
The comments on Hite’s video elicited a sense of shock from viewers.
“I’m not even a customer but I want compensation for what I seen,” said one viewer.
“People deserve their ‘privacy,’ but they shouldn’t be doing ‘it’ where people can see,” said another.
“I just need to know who it was and WHY and WHY THEY THOUGHT NO ONE COULD SEE,” wrote a third.
‘Nothing Would Shock Me Coming Out Of This Area’
Hite began the video driving past the Eastman Credit Union building in Johnson City, before giving more context. “I saw it on Facebook this morning,” Hite explained. “I was not prepared. I quickly scrolled by it and then I realized as I was scrolling it said this is in Johnson City.”
“I’m not surprised though, I live in Rednecksville. Nothing would shock me coming out of this area I live in OK.”
This is not the first time in recent weeks that this region of Tennessee has made viral headlines. “If Stasia Hicks didn’t put us on the map in Gate City with the antipasta salad, then this will honey and this is awful,” said Hite.
Hite was referring to a viral scandal that started after a woman posted a video about how she was kicked out of a Fourth of July party that she said she was invited to. The initial video prompted many more videos by all involved, bringing attention to an area of Tennessee that normally does not catch the national eye.
BroBible reached out to Eastern Credit Union and Emily Hite for comment. The credit union on Sunday apologized.
