In 2015, Rachel Villanueva left the Viva Hot Babes fold and took a different route to earn money and went to car dealership. Along the way, she met her mentor, car dealer Dexter Co from whom she learned the ropes of the trade.
‘I am not getting any younger as I have to look for a stable job. I joined the sales of Mercdes Benz. Yes, I am happy, it’s even better than showbiz,” Villanueva said during the Auto Icon launch on October 6, at Alabang Town Center.
Villanueva is the trade-in partner of Auto Icon which offers a full spectrum of choices from luxury, premium, and mainstream passenger vehicles to pick-ups, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles, as well as dedicated mobility, financial, and parts and services brands. Co, on the other hand, serves as president of Auto Icon.
Villanueva was able to sell 30 Mercedes Benz cars in a span of two months which resulted in her putting up Autoflare, an automotive dealership of luxury cars.
So, what has she learned from Co, her mentor?
“You really have to value your customers. Know what they want, what they need and what will make them happy,” Villanueva said.
Co who started in car dealership business in 2004 admitted that he initially sold one car per month. But since he’s the type of a guy who is a listener, he learned from different car dealers that buyers have different lifestyles.
Co believes that car dealership has slowly gone back to where it was after the pandemic.
“It’s very, very strong. I think the industry is coming back. Right now, we’re already gearing up,” he said. EDV
