IN 2020, actress Ayo Edebiri made scathing remarks about Jennifer Lopez.
The comments have since resurfaced, ahead of their scheduled Saturday Night Live collaboration.
What did Ayo Edebiri say about Jennifer Lopez?
In 2020, Ayo Edebiri was a guest on a podcast called Scam Goddess. The podcast is dedicated to uncovering scams.
While on the podcast, the then-relatively unknown Ayo called Jennifer Lopez’s entire career a scam.
She opened the segment by saying, “Today I was thinking about one of my favorite scams of all time because J. Lo is performing at the Super Bowl.”
“Her whole career is one long scam,” she continued.
Ayo went on to say, “I think she thinks she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs.”
When are Ayo Edebiri and Jennifer Lopez on SNL?
Ayo Edebiri’s comments have resurfaced four years later, on the eve of her Saturday Night Live hosting debut.
In a full circle moment, the Emmy Award winner will host the sketch show on February 3, 2024, with Jennifer Lopez as the musical guest.
The Bear star did not have the critical acclaim or fame she now has when she made the eviscerating comments about the pop diva.
In preparation for the show, the two successful women have been in the same New York studio, but it is unknown if this issue has been brought up by either party.
Fans who are following the drama will have to wait and see if the resurfaced comments are referenced on the live show.
