The “Wendy Williams Show” may be gone and sadly it could be forgotten.
The posthumous daytime talk show came to a bittersweet end on Friday, June 17. The veteran talk show host did not make an appearance during the final taping of the self-titled show.
A video montage celebrating her successful television run played during the final episode.
Wendy Williams’ Show Has Come To An End
The talk show was on air for 13 years with Wendy at the helm for nearly all 13 years. She took a leave of absence from her show in 2021 citing health problems.
Despite the talk show’s long run, it inevitably came to an end, and many of Wendy’s set pieces are getting tossed in the trash.
According to a new report from The Sun, several set pieces and memorabilia will get canned.
‘Wendy Show’ Memorabilia Is Getting Tossed In The Trash
“The wigs are still there since she didn’t come and get them so they’re being thrown out,” a source close to production told the outlet.
In even more tragic news, Wendy’s ICONIC purple chair will face the same fate as her wigs… it’s getting trashed.
“The chair is just going to be thrown out,” the source said. “Production is not even bothering to try to donate the chair to a museum- like ‘The View’ did with their original table after 10 years. They gave it to The Smithsonian.”
Since Wendy went on hiatus from her talk show there have been a bevy of guest hosts including Sherri Shepherd.
Shepherd will take over Wendy’s TV time slot come fall with her own self-titled show, “Sherri.”
Sherri Shares First Look At New Talk Show
She shared the first look at her show on June 9th with a promotional photo. Shepherd posted the photo to Instagram and captioned it, “Whaaa!!! Finally “Sherri” is coming to your tv this fall!!! In May, Wendy did a virtual interview with rapper Fat Joe and opened up about her fill-in hosts new show.
“I like her, but I won’t be watching her because I know what she’s going to be doing and that’s really not my thing,” Wendy said. “Anyway, but I love being on my own show and I love that people love to watch it all the time.”
Sherri got wind of the Instagram Live and issued her own IG Live in response.
On May 7, the actress said, “I did hear Wendy say she will not watch me on the new show. And that’s OK. You know, I understand.”
The 55-year-old show host continued to explain that she’s praying for Wendy.
“She’s going through a lot,” Shepherd shared. “I’m truly concerned for her.”
Wendy has been adamant that she will make a triumphant return to TV in the future.
