Welcome to the Definitive JURASSIC Park Franchise Timeline

How do you condense 65 million years of history into less than 65 minutes? You just focus on the really important stuff, like everything that has ever happened in the Jurassic Park universe. That’s what Nerdist‘s own Adam Murray did when he sat down to compile the definitive dino timeline for one of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, Jurassic Park.

Get ready for Jurassic World: Rebirth by catching up on everything that came before it. And we do mean everything. In this comprehensive video, our very own Adam Murray went through every canonical source from both the films and the franchise’s expanded universe to identify exactly when every relevant event took place within the Jurassic Universe.

That story technically began 65 million years ago, but c’mon. C’mon. If you want to learn about actual dinosaurs, the last place you should look for information is a Jurassic Park movie. (Just ask Dr. Henry Wu, am I right?) No, this timeline is all about the films, but we’re not just simple stuff like “what year did a movie take place.” We’re talking about everything, both on screen and off. Because the only thing more complete than an Adam Murray cinematic timeline is… nothing. These are the single most thorough videos you will ever see.

Adam’s Jurassic Park timeline begins in 1969 with Dr. John Hammond and his Kenyan Wildlife Park. From there it goes through the major (and important minor) events that have shaped this modern prehistoric tale along the way. That tale will technically take us into the future as Jurassic World: Rebirth will take place in 2027 even though it’s coming to theaters on July 2, 2025.

I told you Adam is thorough. He didn’t just condense 65 million years into less than 65 minutes. He even included some of the future. And with that kind of foresight someone involved with Jurassic Park should really reach out to him. He might be able to help them make sure no more humans turn into dinosaur food.
