Does actor Timothée Chalamet just have one of those faces? Do a lot of people just look that much like the Dune and Wonka star? Well, popular YouTuber Anthony Po sure seems to think so. Over the last weekend of October, he organized a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in Washington Square Park in New York City, which drew some pretty huge crowds. And most shockingly, the 28-year-old actor showed up himself, much to the delight of many of his adoring fans. You can watch a clip of Timothée Chalamet at his own lookalike contest down below:
They advertised the Timothée Chalamet lookalike event in New York via a metric ton of flyers, as well as a Partiful invite, which apparently drew thousands of RSVPs. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Partiful also ended up sponsoring part of the event. This included the $50 cash prizes ultimately given out to everyone who entered. Ultimately, they fined Anthony Po $500 for “Hosting an unauthorized costume contest” in Washington Square Park. No doubt all the publicity was worth it. They even arrested one of the Timothée Chalamet lookalikes for causing a ruckus, although Anthony Po did bail them out.
The winner of the contest was someone by the name of Miles Mitchell. Like most contestants, he dressed up as the Willy Wonka version of Timothée Chalamet. Judging from the brief video we saw, it seems Wonka was the overall number one choice among the legion of Chalamets. We’re actually relieved it wasn’t someone looking like Chalamet in Call Me By Your Name. That movie has too much potential for disturbing costume props. (I’ve you’ve seen the film, you know what we mean). Given the mild chaos of this event, will there be a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest, take two? If so, we’re rooting for the Paul Atreides Dune Chalamet this time.
