Next month, on September 30, a new British series is hitting Prime Video and it centres on our homegrown rap and drill scenes. Directed by Nothing Lost, aka Junior Okoli and Chas Appeti, the new series is titled Jungle and the first trailer has just dropped after being premiered during the Television Critics Association panel.
Made up of six episodes, the series tells the overlapping stories of several strangers overcoming various struggles set against the backdrop of the drill and rap scenes. Of course, that music will be the soundtrack, but many of its key players have also been cast in key roles in the series.
Among the cast list that’s been announced, we’ve got Ezra Elliott as Gogo and RA as Slim. The cast also includes M24 as 6ix, J Fado as Chapo, K Koke as Stacks, Jaykae as Willow, IAMDDB as Mia, Seyi Andes-Pelumi as Danial, and AMARIA BB as Bianca. Also set to appear are Tinie Tempah, Big Narstie, Unknown T, Jordan McCann, Double Lz, Rimzee and Bandokay
Alongside the trailer, the series blurb reads: “Jungle follows the connected lives of several strangers, each facing their own struggle, viewed through the prism of UK rap and drill music, and gives a perspective on an often-unseen world. Frequently misunderstood, it’s a world where one law governs everything: only the strongest will survive. As the strangers’ worlds begin to unravel around them, they come to the realisation that every action, no matter how small, has a consequence. Portraying the city through compelling visuals whilst detailing the many perils of day-to-day life in inner city London, Jungle ultimately seeks to convey a bigger message about the true value of life.”
Ahead of the season premiere on September 30, hit play on the trailer above.
