Watch: Relix and FreshGrass | Bentonville Unveil Behind the Scenes Sessions with Sister Sadie, Lost Bayou Ramblers, Willi Carlisle, La Doña and More

On May 16 and 17, Bentonville, Ark.’s The Momentary welcomed fans from across the country for FreshGrass | Bentonville 2025. In its highly anticipated fifth annual presentation, FreshGrass’ sister festival in the South hosted a total of 23 artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, Americana and everything in between for a captivating two-day retreat, led by headliners Lukas Nelson and Shakey Graves and artists-at-large Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal. 

Like its counterpart in Massachusetts, though, the festival’s diverse and potent perspective on America truly thrived in its undercard. All day and night, a dazzling display of instrumental prowess and unmatched songcraft echoed across the cultural hub adjacent to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, with a packed bill of established and rising stars sharing intimate shows on four stages. Between sets, Relix stepped backstage to film Tower Bar Sessions at The Momentary–a series of seven stripped-back, close-quarters performances with some of the weekend’s greatest talents.

Today, the project’s first dispatch arrives with a stirring three-track engagement from Nashville, Tenn. bluegrass icons Sister Sadie. In a loft overlooking the festival grounds, the twice Grammy-nominated and four-time IBMA-winning all-female ensemble delivered tremendous treatments of “I Wish It Would Rain, “Prodigal Daughter” and “Raleigh’s Ride”–no backline necessary. Performances from Lost Bayou Ramblers, Mireya Ramos and The Poor Choices, Willi Carlisle, AJ Lee & Blue Summit, La Doña and Cha Wa will follow every Friday exclusively on the Relix YouTube Channel.
