Lights goes full meta in her new easter egg-filled, twist-and-turn clip for one of the highlights from this year’s ‘PEP’.
Lights have always made sure that her music videos were special, but her latest takes things to the next level.
It’s for the track ‘Okay Okay’, which is one of the many bright and breezy highlights on her latest full-length ‘PEP’.
And the clip is a meta look at her trying to figure out what to do for the video by calling the versions of herself from previous clips.
‘Prodigal Daughter’. ‘Salt and Vinegar’. ‘In My Head’. They’re all here.
But there’s also a little horror movie twist to be had as well, so make sure to watch your back.
Lights had this to say about the visual:
“As a big fan of horror movies, I figured it was about time for me to make a horror video concept. I employed a screen-life style production where the whole thing occurs on a computer screen which enabled me to satirize our constant demand for content as well as mix in some spooky horror moments. This was the only video I’ve ever made entirely on my own. A ton of work and planning but really fun to make in the end.”
Here we go then:
We spoke to Lights all about ‘PEP’ around its release earlier this year, which you can catch up with below:
