VSauce, otherwise known as Michael Stevens, has finally his made his long-form video return to YouTube after a two-year absence. However, some fans aren’t sure whats coming next.
“Hey VSauce, Michael here!” is a phrase that the majority of YouTube users will recognise. It’s the catchphrase for Michael Stevens and his channel, VSauce, and has been used whenever he kicks off a new video.
However, those curiosity-scratching and thought-provoking videos went away in 2023. Stevens continued to upload YouTube Shorts, but hadn’t posted a long-form video.
Many fans drew the conclusion that, given he was a one-man band in doing the research, writing scripts, and so on, Michael had no time to keep making his long videos to such a high standard.
VSauce returns but no future announced
Well, after a two-year absence, the VSauce channel returned with its first long-form upload on July 15, titled All The Ghosts You Will Be.
The 22-minute-long video, which has already gained over 1.1 million views in just over 12 hours, poses a number of existential questions about life and death. Yet, fans were just glad to have the longer videos back.
“We used to pray for times like this,” one commented. “this is a moment in history everybody…,” another added. “A LONGFORM VIDEO? ITS A MIRACLEEEE!” another said.
However, the YouTuber did not sign off with a message about seeing fans soon or being back to a regular upload schedule. That has left some questioning if this is just a one-off or if they can expect more VSauce soon.
Given the Shorts uploads, Michael hasn’t totally left the internet. He has popped up on social media from time to time, responding to fans who pose questions, wish him a happy birthday, or send an interesting topic his way.
So, maybe he’ll break his silence before too long.
