2024 will be a year to forget for Jennifer Lopez, as she’s endured substantial personal and professional struggles.
Not only are the tabloids and paparazzi photographers constantly hounding J. Lo about a rumored divorce from her husband Ben Affleck, but the release of her latest studio album This Is Me… Now has been a disaster.
This Is Me… Now was not only on the receiving end of largely negative feedback from both critics and fans but its failure to generate any hype was so extreme that Lopez had to cancel the ENTIRETY of the accompanying tour.
Despite the fact that This Is Me… Now was released less than six months ago, the album has already been spotted in bargain bins, as a viral post on Twitter shows that one store decided to mark its price down THREE separate times.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” Lopez said in a statement about the tour’s cancellation, which reps claimed was done so she could focus on her family.
“Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Lopez’s career has had one win this year, however, as her Netflix movie Atlas, despite poor reviews and an AI-made aesthetic, was one of the most-watched movies in the world in the weeks following its release.
The 54-year-old certainly seems like she’ll be focusing on her film career in the coming years as she has two upcoming movies in her filmography: Unstoppable, which is in post-production, and Kiss of the Spider Woman, which is now in production.
