Valkyrae suddenly ends Press ESC podcast after just 24 episodes

Valkyrae’s Press ESC Podcast has ended after 24 episodes despite their videos consistently garnering 100k+ views on YouTube, with some episodes getting into the millions. According to Valkyrae, ending the show was a business decision.

The Press ESC podcast was Valkyrae‘s effort to build something new, branching out from her streaming career and other businesses to start a show with one of her friends.

Alythuh, another online influencer and business owner, was someone she chose to pair up with and create a cozy show featuring some of their favorite creators and other people in the space along with some episodes that were just the two of them.

After having a number of huge guests like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, Bella Poarch and more, their show has come to an early end.

Press ESC podcast ends for “business reasons”

Her and co-host Lisa missed a weekly upload on March 30, leaving fans wondering where the show went. A week later on April 6, Valkyrae came in to deliver the bad news alongside Lisa in one final Press ESC episode.

“We kind of abandoned our own businesses for this podcast,” Alythuh explained, with Valkyrae saying she “doesn’t regret” doing the podcast but that neither of them had the time for it anymore.

Rae claimed that she put off one of her business opportunities for 3 months, in part because of her trying to film the show, and that it was a clear sign that she can’t commit to doing a weekly show anymore.

“As we kept going these past six months, we started seeing that time management was a big thing, and communication, trying to figure out scheduling. Like, ‘Oh, we should fit in a duo episode! But we can’t film, so we need to do more guest episodes so we can backlog more.”

Getting the team together to film the Press ESC podcast required a lot of travel for the crew involved, meaning they couldn’t just get together for a weekly show. But, with many of the things both Lisa and Rae were working on, it was nigh impossible to put together backlogged episodes that felt current and topical.

Though Rae loved having so many guests on, Lisa wanted to have more of a duo dynamic and build their relationship and dynamic together. With neither of them having the time to make that happen, they mutually agreed to split.

Rae explained that Press ESC is going on an indefinite hiatus, with her saying that the show “isn’t the same” without Lisa around, though she didn’t rule out picking it back up in the future.
