UNO responds to rumors it’s being added as a casino game

UNO response to casino claims

UNO has responded to online speculation that the beloved card game was being turned into a gambling product, clarifying that it’s not launching a casino version, but it is heading to casinos across the US in a new way.

After posts circulated on social media claiming that UNO was being converted into a real-money slot machine or card game, the brand took to Facebook to clear things up.

“A rumor has come to our attention that there will be UNO tables on the casino floors in Las Vegas,” they said. “Sounds wild, huh?

“We hate to be the bearers of bad news but the casino floor isn’t ready for us yet. We’ve been told that while they do have tight security, it’s not robust enough for UNO at this time. This isn’t a Reverse card. While we get this sorted out, the UNO Social Club is rolling out to bars in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Atlanta and Austin this August.”

UNO Social Club hits casino lounges with themed pop-ups

The UNO Social Club is a pop-up campaign set to appear at select casino resorts around the country, transforming traditional casino lounges into themed UNO experiences. The first activations will roll out in Las Vegas, New Jersey, and other major gaming destinations this summer.

“We created UNO Social Clubs to reimagine what game night can be — bringing people together for real-world fun, connection, and a bit of friendly competition,” said Ray Adler, vice president and global head of games at Mattel, in a statement.

“The UNO Social Club in Las Vegas is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see how these new experiences inspire players to show up, play hard, and make unforgettable memories.”

That doesn’t mean there won’t be UNO-themed games, however. According to reports, visitors to the experience will be able to play UNO Golf, UNO Teams, and the fast-paced UNO Show ‘Em No Mercy inside the social club experience – but not on the actual casino floor.

This isn’t the first time a casino experience has gone viral across social media. Back in 2024, the ‘MrBeast Experience’ in Las Vegas prompted a response from the YouTuber after visitors shared how things didn’t go quite as planned.
