Universal's 'Rip Ride Rockit' Rollercoaster Is Closing Down

Universal Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida have announced that they are closing their iconic ‘Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit’ rollercoaster later this year.

Originally opened in 2009, the high octane coaster allows riders to listen to their favourite music while they head around the track. My Chemical Romance’s ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ was added to the official five songs available to choose from in 2023 alongside the likes of ABBA and Kendrick Lamar.

The ride also became famous for its list of secret songs including tracks by Metallica, Muse and Rage Against The Machine.

In fact, Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus is such a fan of the ride that he personally insisted on adding ‘All The Small Things’ and ‘What’s My Age Again?’ to the choices available when he visited with his family.

‘Rip Ride Rockit’ will permanently close in early September so make sure you go ride the rails to the sounds of MCR one more time before it is gone forever.
