Umphrey’s McGee have announced the foundation for a new Fall Tour. Rather than plotting a stretch of dates at different venues across the country, the esteemed genre-bending jam quintet looks forward to the next season of their live itinerary with two extended engagements for a total of six dates.
After proceeding through 19 further stops on their current summer Cruising Altitude tour, which concludes with two nights at Livingston, Mont.’s Pine Creek Lodge on Sept. 19 and 20, Umphrey’s McGee will return to the road in October for three nights at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Brooklyn Bowl from Oct. 24-26. Weeks later, from Nov. 6-8, the band will take the stage at Indianapolis’ The Vogue. As Umphrey’s McGee’s last three-night series was the Top Note Sessions that produced their forthcoming studio album Blueprints, which the upcoming tour will support, it seems certain that the group’s mini-residencies will be special.
Umphrey’s Mcgee unveiled Blueprints two weeks ago as their first full-length album since 2022’s Asking for a Friend. Set to arrive on Sept. 12, the band’s long-awaited return to the studio was guided by their time-honored commitments to shapeshifting live composition and community feedback, assembling a new collection of originals entirely from stitched-together onstage inspiration.
All six of the expansive entries on Blueprints were debuted at Umphrey’s McGee’s annual UMBowl events, where the group divides their stage time into quarters and embraces their wildest musical instincts. The tracks can be traced specifically to the recurring “Raw Stewage” section, which invites fans to vote on their favorite next-level jams that veered into wholly original creations–affectionately termed “Jimmy Stewarts”–to be cut down and recombined to form new songs. These composite cuts were recorded during the Top Note Sessions in December 2024, set on the fourth floor of the Metro in their Chicago home base.
Tickets for Umphrey’s McGee’s new performances are available through a UMVIP presale now, with a general on-sale to follow on Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. local. Find more information on Blueprints and the band’s full live calendar at umphreys.com/tour.
