Twitch streamer ‘Carmaxlla’ had an unexpected guest during a broadcast on March 17 — one that left both her and her viewers screaming.
Carmaxlla is a fairly popular streamer on Twitch, where she boasts over 24K followers who tune in to watch her humorous ‘Just Chatting’ broadcasts.
As of March 2025, she began broadcasting her travels in Costa Rica, where she rented an Airbnb with friend and fellow streamer MelissaBug… but an uninvited guest ended up crashing the stream in a hilarious way.
On March 17, Carmaxlla was chatting with her viewers on the sofa in her Airbnb’s living room when she appeared to notice something on the ground by her feet.

Streamer’s broadcast crashed by massive scorpion
After looking down to see what it was, the streamer started screaming, warning her friend that there was a “f**king scorpion on my foot!”
Luckily, she managed to get it off of her foot and quickly panned the camera downwards to show the critter chilling on the carpet, laughing at the absurdity of the situation and her own reaction.
“What do we do?” the Carmaxlla and her friend screamed as they showed off the scorpion. Her chat had similar sentiments, with viewers leaving comments in all caps.
Things escalated when the arachnid decided he was done with the situation and started skeedaddling away, leaving both women panicking as it trotted off with its two massive pincers outstretched in front of it.
Finally, Carmaxlla trapped the scorpion under a glass cup, joking that she “almost peed” herself in her panic.
She managed to get a painting canvas underneath the cup and lifted up the creature to show it off to her chat while she and her friend discussed what to do with it. The two eventually released it outside back into the wild, hopeful that it wouldn’t return to terrorize them once again.
It looks like Carmaxlla encountered a bark scorpion, one of several species native to Costa Rica. While they certainly look formidable, they are not venomous — but their sting is known to hurt quite a bit.
This isn’t the first time someone’s stream has been interrupted by a chaos-causing critter; in July 2024, Twitch streamer ‘Keth’ got her lunch stolen mid-broadcast by a greedy seagull during her travels in Venice, Italy.
