Twitch stream goes wrong after drag race ends in two-car accident

A Twitch streamer was left shocked after a massive accident at a drag race took out two high-performance cars.

IRL streaming has skyrocketed in popularity over the years, and broadcasting from motorsports events has become some of the most exciting content on the platform.

Creators livestream themselves while at an event, whether it’s drag racing or a Formula 1 race, and often catch things happening right as they take place – good or bad.

Twitch streamer TheStonedVet was livestreaming a local drag race when it went horribly wrong, and two high-performance cars slammed into each other.

In the now-viral clip, two high-performance Mustang drag cars lined up to race and, within seconds, took off down the track. It wasn’t long until the car in the left lane lost control and side-swiped the other Mustang.

The collision sent the left car into the right one and caused them both to slam into the wall at high speeds. One car went off into the other side of the track, slamming against the wall a second time.

Onlookers began racing down the track on foot, ATVs, and a pickup truck in an attempt to rescue the racers and assess the overall damage.

“Both drivers are okay,” said the race track’s announcer as soon as help arrived at the cars.

After confirming the drivers’ safety, track officials began clearing the cars from the strip so they could continue racing soon after.

Within the next hour, cars lined up in the right line to make a few passes down the strip – but did so alone as officials shut down the lane the Mustang was in when it lost control and caused the accident.

After another hour, they started making passes in the previously closed down lane, ruling that it was safe to keep drag racing and that the issue may have been a malfunction with the car or driver error rather than an issue with the track.

This isn’t the first time an IRL streamer has caught a car accident on stream, either. Back in 2023, ExtraEmily was left shocked after a man rear-ended her car while live on Twitch.
