Twitch launches new feature for all streamers to get sponsorship deals easily

Twitch and StreamElements have partnered to integrate sponsorships directly into the Twitch platform – the first time Twitch has embedded a third party into its system – giving streamers more ways to increase their earnings.

Twitch creators will now find StreamElements sponsorships in the ‘Sponsorship’ tab of their Twitch dashboard, offering a “Guaranteed Base Pay”, as well as Performance Incentives, which will be bonuses based on levels of audience engagement.

Furthermore, all creators will have access to this feature, meaning you don’t have to be a Partner or Affiliate. Although, this won’t be immediate, with the program starting for 10,000 select partners on February 25, before expanding to English-language Affiliates in March, and more expansions in the future, but a date is not specified.

While the sponsorships are displayed on Twitch directly, payouts are handled separately by StreamElements – separate from any payouts from Twitch.

Streamers simply have to browse available sponsorships on Twitch, using the dashboard agree to the terms, and get paid upon completion.

“This expands sponsorship access for Twitch creators of all sizes,” said Or Perry, CEO of StreamElements.

New Creator Profiles on Twitch

To help streamers advertise themselves to potential sponsors, new Creator Profiles are also being rolled out.

“Brands want to know what you’re all about,” Twitch says in their blog post. “What are your interests? What do you like to stream? To make yourself more discoverable to potential sponsors, we encourage all Partners globally to fill out the new Creator Profile, located in your dashboard.

“With this brand new professional showcase of your channel, you’re more likely to attract opportunities that genuinely align with your content and personality.”

Mike Minton, Chief Monetization Officer at Twitch, said: “Twitch grows alongside its streamers as they build their communities and success, and sponsorships are key to that growth. With Creator Profiles and our new partnership with StreamElements, creators can now easily showcase their channels and connect with relevant sponsor campaigns. By integrating these tools into the Twitch dashboard, we’re simplifying the process of securing brand deals and helping streamers increase their revenue.”

Twitch also says “this is just the beginning, with more sponsorship updates to come,” highlighting that the existing “Bounty Board” streamers use to pick sponsored stream opportunities, will be moved into the Sponsorships dashboard, and that “it’ll be available to more streamers than ever before.”
