A PLUS-SIZE influencer has hit back at the nasty trolls who dubbed her a ”whale” after she was secretly filmed dancing.
Jade Adams has responded to ”body shaming” meanies after finding herself at the centre of an online controversy on Instagram earlier this week.
The young content creator was horrified when she spotted a video of herself dancing had been shared on the popular Influencers In The Wild page without her consent.
The account, which has won over 5million followers, is known for poking fun at influencers filming in public places, and posted a clip of the 27-year-old recording in a secluded park area.
But unfortunately the short footage soon took the internet by storm for all the wrong reasons, as Jade was viciously trolled for her curves, which bullies thought were that of a ”whale”.
The body positivity influencer, who goes by chubbybellyredhead, has since responded to the sudden drama and admitted her shock to learn someone had been ”watching” her and had filmed her without her knowledge.
Chatting to Daily Mail Australia, she shared: ”I’m a little bit shocked I guess! I always go out and I like to film out in public, obviously not in anyone’s way but it still ended up on the page, which was weird. I was very shocked by it.”
After first seeing the clip, Jade said she ”laughed it off” but soon her Direct Messages were flooded by comments and people sending a link to the video over and over again.
The social media star, who rakes in an eye-watering five figures online every month, bravely admitted that reading the nasty comments wasn’t ”easy”.
Criticising keyboard warriors for making assumptions about her body, Jade also praised the kind-hearted people who raced to her defence, especially fellow women hitting back at the trolls.
”Normally I get lots of bad comments but it seemed like I was getting lots of support on there. It was definitely a flip because people are I think very confused about why people aren’t hating on me and are supporting me because I’m big,” she said.
Since the video was shared on the page – where it’s racked up over 3.6million views in just three days – Jade’s had ”lots of support”, as well as supportive messages telling her ”to keep doing” her own thing.
”But the comments calling me a whale and all that stuff, I’m used to that,” the 27-year-old Aussie from the Central Coast said.
While seeing the rude remarks is ”not easy”, Jade said she was on a mission ”to inspire other people, especially bigger women, because it’s hard to put yourself out there online just to get lots of hate”.
This is not the first time the content creator has been exposed to harsh comments – in the past, Jade’s also been told she’s ”going to die” by the time she reaches 30.
